Beskrivelse
About us Latvian choir "In Corde Meo" celebrates its 15th anniversary, marking a decade and a half of singing, community, and heartfelt dedication to Latvian choral tradition in Copenhagen. Since its founding, the choir has performed at concerts and cultural events across Denmark, Latvia, as well as abroad, bringing together singers who share a deep love for music and for their heritage. The name In Corde Meo - "in my heart" – embodies the sincere and ever present bond and affection for Latvia. Throughout its history, the choir has been led by several wonderful conductors, each leaving a unique musical imprint on the ensemble. This anniversary program honours them all, as many pieces performed today are dedications to them and the chapters they shaped. Other selections are cherished favourites of the choir members, celebrating the songs that have held special meaning along the way. Under the direction of the conductor Rudolfs Bacans, and accompanied by the Ukrainian pianist Kateryna Luzhetska, In Corde Meo continues its journey. About SAKNES Adazi mixed choir "Saknes" (founded in 2016) is one of the best amateur choirs in the Riga aria. Since 2019, the artistic director of the choir is Arijs Adamsons, and since 2022, the choirmaster and concertmaster has been Austris Kalnins. The creative biography of the choir includes not only solo concerts with programs of different eras and styles, but also collaborations with other groups both in Latvia and abroad. The choir also participates in charity concerts and events. In recent years, the choir has become a bright and recognizable group in Adazi and is increasing its recognition throughout Latvia. In 2022, in response to the events in Ukraine, the concert performance 'Daugava' was prepared, which toured the largest cities in Latvia and also went abroad. In 2024, this concert performance united Latvian diaspora choirs from Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg and Estonia in two concerts in Helsinki and Riga. In 2024, the choir successfully participated in its first choir competition in Latvia, Mazsalaca, winning the main prize in the small town choir category.
